What is Marriage Preparation?
The Marriage Preparation Course is a very practical course that, while based on Christian principles, is very helpful for any couple with or without a Christian faith or Church background. It gives any engaged couple the tools to prepare for the wedding and then to build a strong and healthy marriage that lasts a lifetime.
Why do a Marriage Preparation Course?
- To help the couple build a good relationship with each other before marriage and aid them to identify and address issues from the past that may hinder that relationship
- To guide the couple toward effective and realistic goals in marriage
- To give information that will help them in building a happy and successful marriage
- To help the couple make adequate arrangements for the wedding service
What's involved?
The setting is welcoming, relaxed and unthreatening, and is normally run for one couple at a time. There is a talk each evening followed by an opportunity to discuss the topic together as a couple.
Topics include:
- Intentions
- Looking at yourselves
- Looking at family
- Communication, finances and goals
