Cherish provides a space for women to gather together
to shape each other and be shaped by God

To Shape: through building relationships and sharing our life stories we can encourage and grow each other.  We believe that all women, irrespective of their stage in life or journey with God, have something valuable and unique to bring.

Be Shaped: we explore subjects relevant to us as women from a God focus.  We want to allow God to touch us and change us into the women that He has planned for us to be.

Be 'Cherished': God cherishes each one of us. Our aim is to enable all who come to feel 'cherished'.

Cherish and The Big Challenge

There is a Christian charity called Project Rahab, who befriend women involved in the sex industry in Reading.  As part of the church's Big Challenge we felt that Project Rahab was a ministry that we would love to support and an organisation that Cherish could adopt.  As part of the £10 challange in 2006 we raised money to buy and put together small gift packs for the Rahab team to give to the women they work with.  The packs contained items like handcream, hats and scarf set, lip balm, and hair clips.  The Rahab team fedback that the packs were hugely appreciated by the women, with many of them being very moved and touched that people really did care about them.  It was a great practical way to show them the love of Jesus and it opened up relationships more between the women and those on the team.  We hope to be able to further support the work of Rahab in other practical ways in the future.

There are several other ways, as Cherish that we can support Project Rahab.  Firstly we can pray for the team, specifically for their protection and for the women they are working with.  Secondly we can volunteer to get involved with the work.  Email Jo Kay ( This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ) if you are interested.
