Thought for the Week
Monday 28th April

Read, meditate - dwell on the words!

As the ark of the covenant of the Lord was entering the City of David, Michal daughter of Saul watched from a window.  And when she saw King David dancing and celebrating, she despised him in her heart.

1 Chronicles 15: 29

Nothing would stop King David from dancing for joy when the ark of God came back to Jerusalem.  His wife Michal, however, was more concerned about the king’s image than about the significance of the event.  She thought his exuberance was undignified and she was quick to criticise.  We too can develop a critical attitude towards others who worship differently than we do.

When our hearts are focused on Jesus, we are free to enjoy the rich diversity of worship expressed through the different personalities, generations and cultures in the church today.

Consider how you view others who worship in a different style than you.  Ask God to give you a new perspective and heart attitude towards them.
