For us to be effective as a youth ministry we really feel that it's important for us to have a clearly defined vision. You can find part of our vision below. Basically we want to have purpose, be intimate and be community. We hope that this is reflected in all that we do.
Statement of purpose:
We believe that the young people are very much part of the Church of today and have a significant place within the body of the Church family (Connect/Fellowship). We believe that they have a purpose and function to fulfil and we aim to resource them to do that. We aim to help them to know Jesus (Grow/Discipleship) and to make Him known (Reach/Evangelism). We want to release young people to be who God has called them to be (Discover/Ministry). We also aim to have a youth ministry that has a significant impact within our community through young people, whose worship is to actively serve, work and minister (Honour/Worship).
Our aims relating to the youth:
- To enable young people to grow in their relationship with Jesus (Grow/Discipleship)
- To nurture faith development of young people (Discover/Ministry)
- To offer Christianity in a relevant and appropriate way to young people (Reach/Evangelism)
- To offer support and pastoral care for young people (Connect/Fellowship)
- To help the youth discover worship as a life style; to actively serve, work and minister (Honour/Worship)
