We believe that everyone can find a place to belong and a place where they can serve and contribute to the work of the Kingdom. We believe that we are a Royal Priesthood - that is to say - everyone gets to play! We recognise that everyone has a major contribution to make, and it is our desire to always share the workload so that each person, regardless of age and experience is able to make their contribution and no one is over burdened.
What can you do?
The variety of activity in the life of the church is so wide there really is something for everyone to be involved in. Running a church involves many people, many tasks and much work. There are many areas where you can help with this workload on a Sunday, in addition to the range of tasks that are available during the course of the week. If you would like to discuss where you can help, please call the office on 0118 966 9782.

Here is a brief overview of some of the essential ministries that are covered on a Sunday. You could be part of a Sunday morning or evening team.
Venue Team
Serving on this team is one of the most rewarding jobs on a Sunday. The morning venue team arrives (along with the worship team) at about 8.30 am, and they transform Bulmershe Leisure Centre into a church for the meeting. The evening venue team turn the hall back to a sports facility at the end of the day. It may sound like hard work but there is a superb team of people working together every week, and many hands make light work. The morning team is led by Rich Kay, and the evening team is led by Jo Tait. Both who would be happy to talk to potential “Venue Team Recruits” at any time!
Welcome Team
For those who are particularly gifted at welcoming and encouraging new members and visitors. The morning welcome team starts at 9.45 am, and is led by Jenny Varey. The evening welcome team starts at 6:00pm and is lead by Lynn Chetcuti.
Catering Team
We come to church to meet with God and to meet with each other and these times of fellowship are vital if we are to fully benefit from our church experience. The people who work on the morning and evening catering teams facilitate fellowship and friendship through the provision of refreshments (tea, coffee, juice, donuts) both before and after our Sunday services. The morning team start at 9:30am, and are led by Sandra Lamb. The evening team start at 5:45pm and are led by Jackie Webb.
Worship Teams
You can be part of our sound or visuals teams, or even part of one of our bands (you need to apply to be in a band) - please see the worship section of the site for more details, or speak to Ruth Courntey.
SPACE Team
There are many opportunites to serve on the teams that work with our children (0-10's). Again you will need to apply, and be CRB checked. Please see the SPACE pages under people groups for more information, or speak to Emma Russell or Denise Hartwell.
Youth Team
There are also opportunites to serve on our Youth team, working with our 11-18's. Again you will need to apply, and be CRB checked. Please see the youth pages under people groups for more information, or speak to Paul Lowe.

Joining a Sunday Ministry |
What would be expected?
If you join one of our Sunday ministry teams you will be asked to serve on the team once each month. You would be asked to always cover your ministry week, or if you are away to swap with another church member, preferably from the same team but a different week, and inform your team leader accordingly.
How long do I do this for?
When you feel that you would like a break from your chosen area of ministry, or you would like to try another, we simply ask you to discuss this with your leader two or three sessions before you plan to finish and to help to find someone to replace you on the team.
How do I join?
The best way is to try and talk directly to the team leader. On our information desk there are photos of all out team leaders so you should be able to recognise them. Alternatively, please email or call the office -

Please note that you will need to apply to be on the worship (band), SPACE and Youth teams, and further checks / references also need to be taken.

One of the best ways to do this is to with our pastorates and homegroups. Become part of a pastorate and homegroup, and offer help to the leaders. Further information can be found on the people groups and homegroups pages of this site.
We also have times in the office when voluntary admin help is needed. Please email
